Biography: Brian Haughey is a contributing editor the AAII Journal. He is the director of the Investment Center and assistant professor of finance at Marist College, where he built the trading floor to bring hands-on, “real-world” experience to the business curriculum and launched and oversees the Greystone Equity and Fixed Income funds, Marist's student-managed investment funds.

Haughey has worked in the securities industry for over 20 years. Prior to joining Marist College, he worked in Citigroup's Special Situations Group structuring esoteric asset-backed securities, including deals backed by mutual fund fee, timeshare, energy, movie, auto and mortgage collateral. He was also responsible for placing paper, selling over $3 billion (nominal face) of exotic asset-backed securities to institutional investors worldwide, and designed a MTM (mark-to-market) and VAR (value-at-risk) risk-reporting system that he used to hedge a billion-dollar, multi-asset class, portfolio.

Haughey is the co-author, with Oleg V. Bychuk, of the Wiley Finance title, "Hedging Market Exposures." He holds B.Sc. and MBS degrees and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), financial risk manager (FRM) and chartered alternative investment analyst (CAIA) designations.
